Abstract

The family is the smallest institution within the social structure and serves as a foundation for the stability of a state. Happiness is a fundamental goal that people continually strive to achieve. However, family happiness is not assessed solely from an external perspective but also encompasses an inner dimension closely related to spirituality. One method believed to foster inner peace is the Qadiriyah Naqsyabandiyah Sufi Order (TQN). The distinctive feature of TQN at Suryalaya Islamic Boarding School lies in the recitation of the tanbih by the spiritual guide, Sheikh Abdullah Mubarok bin Nur Muhammad (Abah Sepuh), which was formulated as a moral and spiritual guideline based on divine messages to be applied in daily life. This study employed a phenomenological method with a qualitative approach. The study focused on gaining an in-depth understanding of individuals’ experiences in internalizing the teachings of tanbih through interviews and observations. The research was conducted in Kertaraharja Village, Panumbangan District, Ciamis Regency. The results showed that the internalization of tanbih values in realizing family happiness is carried out through various activities of TQN followers, particularly through the recitation of the tanbih text. Tanbih is understood as a guideline, reminder, and advice to avoid excessive attachment to worldly or material aspects in seeking happiness. True happiness is understood as being attainable through drawing closer to Allah SWT.
