Abstract

Electromagnetic radiation has an important role in various aspects of life, from communication, health, education, to industry. However, public understanding of the terms radiation and electromagnetic waves is still relatively low, so it has the potential to cause misunderstandings in their use. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to provide education to residents of RT 4 RW 6 Ungaran Village, West Ungaran District, Semarang Regency to be wiser in utilizing tools that use electromagnetic waves. The implementation method includes providing pre-tests to measure initial knowledge, counseling on the benefits and dangers of electromagnetic radiation, and post-tests to evaluate the improvement of public understanding. The counseling is carried out interactively with an emphasis on the practical aspects of daily technology use. The results of the activity are expected to show an increase in public knowledge about electromagnetic radiation and awareness of the importance of using technology wisely. In conclusion, simple educational interventions through counseling can be an effective means of increasing public literacy related to electromagnetic radiation, as well as supporting the creation of a healthier and safer environment in the use of modern technology.
