Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution of Arabica and Robusta coffee plantations, identify the factors influencing farmers’ choice of coffee varieties, and assess coffee productivity in Ngesrepbalong Village, Limbangan Subdistrict, Kendal Regency. The study employed a spatial approach using survey methods. Data were collected through field surveys using the Global Positioning System (GPS), interviews with 33 respondents, and documentation. Spatial analysis was conducted using a Geographic Information System (GIS), while factor analysis utilized Principal Component Analysis (PCA).  The results showed that the distribution of coffee plantations was dominated by Robusta coffee at 38 sites (92.68%), while Arabica coffee was found at 2 sites (4.88%), and mixed plantations at 1 site (2.44%). Coffee plantations formed a clustered pattern on the slopes of Mount Ungaran. Factor analysis identified four main factors influencing coffee variety selection: suitability of land physical conditions, accessibility, and availability of high-quality seedlings. The average productivity of Robusta coffee was 852.47 kg/ha/year, higher than that of Arabica coffee at 816.24 kg/ha/year.
