Makna Filosofis Go’et Bantang Cama Reje Lele dalam Perspektif Filsafat Bahasa Ludwig Wittgenstein pada Masyarakat Manggarai

Abstract

Go’et is a form of Manggarai oral literature that embodies cultural values, moral teachings, and philosophical insights into communal life. One of the go’et expressions that remains actively practiced is bantang cama reje lele, which conveys the values of unity, deliberation, solidarity, and collective participation within the Manggarai community. This study aims to examine the philosophical meaning of go’et bantang cama reje lele through the perspective of Ludwig Wittgenstein's philosophy of language. The research employs a qualitative method with a philosophy of language approach. Data were collected through library research and interviews with Manggarai traditional leaders, then analyzed descriptively and interpretively using Wittgenstein's concepts of language games and forms of life. The findings reveal that the meaning of go’et bantang cama reje lele cannot be understood solely from the literal meaning of its words, but primarily through its use in the social practices of the Manggarai people. The expression functions as a guiding principle in customary deliberations, conflict resolution, traditional ceremonies, and the cultivation of harmonious social relationships. From Wittgenstein's perspective, this go’et represents a language game whose meaning emerges from its cultural context and the social rules governing its use. It also reflects the forms of life of the Manggarai people, in which kinship, mutual cooperation, equality, and respect for customary traditions constitute the foundation of communal life. Therefore, go’et bantang cama reje lele is not merely an element of oral tradition but also serves as an ethical and social guide that preserves the cultural identity of the Manggarai community while strengthening the values of togetherness amid social change.
